A great hunt for mountain goat if you are lucky to draw! This is a 1:1 fully guided 5 day hunt (5 day minimum) for big billies in Montana. This hunt will be conducted out of spike camp and field kitchen will be provided. Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

This outfitter will offer a wall tent or backpacking tent for this hunt. Base camp will be a wall tent, but hunter must be flexible to move where the game is located and spike camp may be necessary with a backpacking tent. This tented camp facility includes separate canvas sleep and cook tents. Each tent has a wood stove for heat! You will be sleeping on cots with foam mattress pads. We recommend that you bring warm sleeping gear as it can be cold at this elevation. Hot showers will also be made available upon your request in a heated shower tent.

Hot meals will be prepared for this hunt in base camp. Hunter can expect homestyle cooking-meat and potatoes. If spike camp is utilized, then hunter can expect a mix of backpacking food and hot meals. You will be served breakfast, juice and plenty of cowboy coffee prior to each mornings hunt. A quality sack lunch will be provided each day to prevent wasting time returning to camp for a midday meal. When you return the fires will be burning and a nice hot meal will be served. This food is first class – you won’t be disappointed! Hunter is also able to hunt while traveling on your days in and out of camp. All of our hunts on horseback are to and from the base camp and to the hunting areas.

Mountain goats live in very steep and rocky terrain. Hunter must be willing to hike high and hike hard to get a good ethical shot on a good billy. Goats will be located and then stalks will be planned. Hunter must be willing to hike high and hike hard to get a good ethical shot on a good billy. Outfitter recommends, if at all possible, that hunters arrive a day or two early. This will help acclimate to the altitude and you can enjoy some sightseeing or hiking. We want you to keep in mind that your physical condition is very important. We want you to have a safe, enjoyable hunt!
Transportation (To/From Basecamp)
Final destination city is Bozeman, Montana. Outfitter will provide transportation from Bozeman for an additional fee. Option to rent a car from Bozeman and drive to West Yellowstone.

Description
This hunt is conducted in September-November. Hunter should expect a variety of weather conditions depending on when the hunt is booked. Rain/Wind gear and snow gaiters a must for this hunt. Hunter should be prepared with durable and possibly insulated boots (depending on if hunt is arranged for later in the season). Outfitter will supply meals and lodging for this hunt.
