Description

Imagine hunting prime western Nebraska Sandhills for that buck of a lifetime, spend four days amidst herds of mule deer. A 2:1 guide ratio is standard but you can request your own personal guide for an additional fee. Spot and stalk is the preferred method of hunting, but ground blinds can also be utilized for your convenience. Morning temps usually start out in the teens, warming up as high as 40 degrees by noon. With black powder hunts we utilize the first two weeks of December. The deer patterns that time of year are based around food sources. The temperature at this time of year is usually cold, so make sure you dress warm. Spot and stalk or ground blind hunts are available this time of year also.

    In the beautiful northwest part of Nebraska, Deer Meadows offers a variety of hunts for your hunting experience. The scenic Sandhills along the wide-open meadows are a hunter's paradise. Over 30,000 acres of privately owned prime hunting ground and the goal is to give you a hunting experience that can't be matched. Being a family owned and operated business, hospitality is second to none. Morning temps usually start out in the teens, warming up as high as 40 degrees by noon. For your noon meal a cooler full of sandwiches, chips, snacks, and drinks accompany you in the pickup. With late afternoon temperatures dropping we target food sources for our evening hunts. Back at camp, there's a comfortable ranch style lodge doesn't have a big screen tv or a crackling fireplace but it does offer home cooked meals, a hot shower, a soft bed, and WIFI.

    Hunter should be prepared to do some moderate hiking. More physically fit will allow for more shot opportunity. Utilize ground blinds to meet hunter's physical needs.

    Closest airports to fly into are Rapid City, SD which is 3 hours or Denver, CO (DIA) which is 4 1/2 hours. Directions to the hunting locations will be provided upon booking. We don't offer airport pickup.

    Description

    We run muzzleloader hunts the first two weeks of December. With the new any scope size law, the possibilities are endless for trophy deer. The temps are usually in the 40's and the low in the teens, which makes the post rut a prime time to harvest that mature buck. The deer bed in the hills during the day and early afternoon they enter the food sources where you can hunt them spot and stalk or from a ground blind or a natural blind. The hunting pressure is minimal and deer are very predictable that time of year. Hunter should be prepared with moderate to warm hunting clothing-layering systems recommended. Bedding, hot meals, and towels will be provided by your outfitter.
