Description
This is a backcountry horseback hunt for 8 days in Wyoming Wilderness. This hunt will consist of 6 actual hunting days, one day in and one day out. This is a 2:1 fully guided hunt with the option to upgrade to a 1:1 for an additional cost. This hunt can be arranged for either archery or rifle. Archery hunts will be conducted in the middle of September and rifle hunts in October. There will be a total of 6 hunters in camp at a time. This is a general area and will require hunters to draw. This unit requires 4-5 points in the regular draw or 3 points to draw in the special. The lay of this country is big canyons, open ridges, heavy timber, meadows, large burn areas and vast areas above timberline. In the early season outfitter is hunting native elk that have been in the area since calving in the spring. Hunter will be in the middle of the rut season during an archery hunt. Hunting in the bugling season is very exciting. Later in the season the outfitter is hunting both the native elk and the big bulls migrating from Yellowstone Park as they move from the park to their winter grounds, this area encompass main migration trails. Hunter will not have to take the first bull they see. The outfitter is after mature bulls. Hunter can expect a 95% shot opportunity. Anyone in decent shape and willing to hunt hard will go home with a good bull.

Description
This is a great opportunity for 6 point bulls on a Wyoming backcountry hunt. This is a fully guided 6 day horseback hunt. This hunt will require 8 full days, 1 day to get into camp and 1 day to get out. Hunter should be prepared for a 7 hour ride to get in and out of camp on horseback. This is a 2:1 hunt but can be arranged for 1:1 for an additional charge. The base camp sits at 9000 feet and is nestled in the heart of the Washakie Wilderness area just eight miles from Yellowstone National Park and twelve miles from the main road. The Washakie Wilderness is located within the Shoshone National Forest, the nations''s largest national forest. To get to the hunting area, we leave our motored vehicles by the main road at our base corral, saddle up our horses, pack all gear on our pack animals, and follow the four hour trail up to our base camp. Outfitter will conduct most of their hunting operations from there. Hunters will be expected to spend 2-8 hours on a horse each day as you look for big bulls. On average, hunters will hike up to 1 mile per day. Hunter will hunt during the rut for mature six point bulls.
