Description

Experience true western hunting, with this horseback elk hunt in Western Wyoming! Stay in a drive-in wall tent camp, right in the middle of prime Elk hunting ground. Elk Hunts include, experienced guides, gentle mountain horses, home cooked meals, packing and caring for game. While this is a general elk hunt, nice mature 300" class bulls can be expected. Taking place in 100% national forest, this outfitter will help you escape the crowd, and get into nice bulls. This hunt takes around 5-6 points to draw. This is a 5 day 2:1 guided hunt.

      Refund Policy:

      Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

      Expect lots of miles on horses, and the better physical condition you are in, the better opportunity you will have. Outfitter can accommodate.

      Nearest town is Alpine, Wyoming. Jackson, Wyoming is the final destination airport.

      Description

      This is an mid to late September rifle hunt. In general weather is mild, but pack for all seasons. Hunt will take place where snow could be possible. Layering systems and durable hiking boots are a must. Full gear list to be provided when booked.

      What to Bring

      • Good, broke-in waterproof/water-resistant hiking boots.
      • Plenty of pairs of socks (include some wool socks)
      • Rain / wind gear
      • Sunglasses, Sunscreen and insect repellent
      • Layered Clothing (long underwear, warm shirt or sweater, pants and a heavy jacket).
      • 2 Pair of Gloves or Mittens
      • Warm sleeping bag (0-degree rating) and pillow
      • Shower Towel, Wash Cloth and Personal Hygiene products
      • Binoculars and/or spotting scope & tripod
      • Hunting knife, replacement blades (if necessary)
      • Daypack (not to big, weight is a factor with horses)
      • 2 flashlights or head lamps (bring batteries)
      • Fluorescent orange outer garment, Wyoming required.
      • Hunting License, Tag & Wyoming Conservation Stamp
