Mountain goats spend most of its days on sheer rock faces and rock outcroppings, so you'll need to be in good physical shape for this hunt. Remote Rocky Mountain hunt areas provide opportunities at trophy class Billies. This is a 10 day fully guided 1:1 hunt. Hunter should expect to spend up to 8 hours a day in the saddle. Heavy hiking to make a stalk on big billy. Options to add many iconic British Columbia species to this hunt for a trophy fee. Base camp has hot showers and all the amenities of home. Wall tents will be used to set up spike camp when goats are found.

Our Horseback hunts are based out of one of two cabin sites, from there you may ride to one or more spike camp location situated through the mountain valleys. In some cases you may ride to a cabin, It is important to be able to get dry and warm, this is a hunt but it is also a vacation.

Meals prepared in camp. If you spike out after a spotted animal you can expect to use backpack amenities. Fresh food served. Homestyle cooking-meat and potatoes.

This is a physically demanding hunt! Outfitter utilizes horses and it is best to take time to ride some horses before coming on this hunt. The more prepared you are physically and mentally, the more enjoyable your experience will be and the better odds you will have. Don't be afraid to contact us to discuss what you can expect.

Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

Charter plane is required to reach base camp. The cost for this is $1800. Book your flight to Fort Saint John, in Alberta. From here transportation is provided to and from our hunting camps in British Columbia. Please arrive before noon the day before the hunt start date. This allows for ample time to settle in and check rifles before the hunt begins. Hunter should be prepared to spend the night in a hotel before and after the hunt. Transportation to the air strip will be provided by the outfitter to fly into camp.

Description

Hunter must be prepared to spend 10 days in the wilderness in wall tent spike camps or in backcountry cabins. Weather can change drastically in the remote wilderness so layering systems are a must. Hunter should be prepared to spend up to 8 hours a day in the saddle as you are pursing big game. Expect to spend many hours glassing and planning stalks to get close to your target species.
