Description
These Dall sheep hunts are fully guided 10 day 1:1 horseback hunts and start on the first of August when the season opens. This area has one of the highest densities of Dall sheep in the Yukon. Typically on horseback out of camps with cabins or wall tents depending on the area that you are hunting. Sheep hunts run from August 1st into late September. All of these sheep camps are between 3000' ft and 5’000ft. The Mountains in this area typically get to about 6500' ft. The weather is typically dry in this area but mountain storms can come in and out. Expect temperatures to range from freezing at night to as high as 80 Degrees Fahrenheit during the warm days in August. Some hunts can be more physical than others. Please be honest about your physical condition when you book your hunt so the outfitter can find the right time and place to make your hunt successful! Grizzly are typically taken as an extra on these Sheep and Moose hunts. Oufitter has Grizzly throughout the area but they are tough to find until mid September. It’s best to come on a late Sheep hunt or Moose hunt if you would like the chance to pursue Grizzly as well.

Refund Policy:
Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

Hunter will stay in either a backpack tent or a wall tent depending on where basecamp is set up. There are some cabins that may be utilized.

Hunter will eat a mix of backpacking food and fresh food. Dehydrated and backpacking food in spike camps. Nothing like sheep back-straps on the campfire!

This hunt does use horseback, but hunter can still expect heavy hiking once the rams are spotted to close the distance to make a shot. Terrain is steep and rocky. Average ride 4 miles and hike 4 miles.
